Here are excerpts with a full link to the article below:
Known internationally after playing the leading role in Fresa y chocolate (Strawberry and Chocolate, 1994), by late producer Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, Perugorría made his debut as a film director in the second half of 2009 with Afinidades (Affinities), a Cuban-Spanish co-production that hasn’t been premiered yet. With respect to his new film, he told the local press that “it is a dream come true” and a “tribute” to Cuban cinema, “where the main character is Cucu’s music and her trip throughout the island.”
The movie belongs to the musical genre and it tells a different story in each of the provinces where Diamantes performed since she began her presentations in Cuba at the end of April, with the show “Bienvenidos a Cuculand” (“Welcome to Cuculand”), composed of songs included in her first solo album, released in 2009.
