The Puerto Rico Association of Chemists [Colegio de Químicos de Puerto Rico] is holding its Environmental Symposium 2010 in Fajardo and Vieques, Puerto Rico, on April 23 and 34. The symposium will gather scientists, lawyers, government officials, and community representatives to explore Vieques, related environmental findings, challenges, and impact on health.
Activities will take place on Friday, April 23, at the Inter-American University-Fajardo (Rooms A and B, Multi-use Building/Edificio de Multiusos) with roundtables and presentations by speakers such as Ariel Iglesias (EPA), Pedro Nieves (JPA), Cruz María Nazario, Arturo Massol, Carlos Rodríguez, Imar Mansilla, Rafael Cruz Pérez, and Verónica González.
The program for Saturday, April 24, will take place at Fuerte Conde de Mirasol Museum in Vieques and will include an introduction by Robert Rabin (Comité Pro Rescate y Desarrollo), a presentation by Neftalí García, and an educational tour of Vieques.
