Jamaican reggae fusion sensation Tessanne Chin and Trinidadian Kees Dieffenthaller, lead singer of Kes the Band, have collaborated on a new track they wrote together, along with KC Phillips, “Loving You.” This song has been produced by Precision Productions (KC Phillips and Nikholai Greene) at the Underground Studio in Jamaica. Both singers are known for their musical diversity and originality .
Dieffenthaller says that the idea for the collaboration came after hearing Chin’s mega hit “Hideaway;” a fusion of reggae with rock riffs, which is a style that Kes the Band has also been exploring in songs like “Stalker,” “Runaway,” and “Till the Morning”).
Kes the Band is a group formed by the Dieffenthaller brothers Kees (lead vocals), Hans (drums), and Jon (guitar), and close friend Riad Boochoon (bass guitar). The group known for their high energy soca hits such as “Melée (Soca 2010),” which I highly recommend as a mood-booster, as well as Kees soulful voice in tracks like “Till the Morning.”
Chin, born September 23, 1985, in Kingston, Jamaica, is well known for her hit singles “Hideaway” and “Messenger.” She has also collaborated with singers such as Shaggy, on the song “Never Let Me Go” and singers Alaine, Queen Ifrica, and sister Tami Chynn on the track “Beautiful Sister.” My favorite collaboration piece is her work with Shaggy, Etana, Sean Paul, and others for Haiti, “Rise Again (Haiti).”
