The School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras presents a photographic exhibition of works by architect and photographer Ivonne María Marcial. “Aprendiendo de la UPI” [Learning from the UPI] features photographs from her personal archive and from those produced for Docomomo Puerto Rico. The opening will take place on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Exhibition Hall of the UPR School of Architecture from 7:45 to 9:45am.
Ivonne María Marcial is a photographer and architect. She completed an MA at the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras and moved to Belgium where she studied photography at the Institut-Saint Luc in Liège. She is a professor of architectural design, drawing, and photography at the New School of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. She is founder of Docomomo Puerto Rico and is the chapter’s current president. DOCOMOMO is the international committee for the documentation and conservation of buildings, sites, and neighborhoods that are representative of the Modern Movement.
