Today is the opening of “Haiti Chérie,” an exhibition in honor of Haiti at the Landhuis Bloemhof Gallery. This exhibition, curated by Denise Deshotels, has brought together artists from various private collections, “showing the beauty and diversity of the island as seen through its art and handicraft.” This exhibition will be showing from February 12 through March 6, 2010. Landhuis Bloemhof is located at Santa Rosaweg 6, Curaçao. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. There will be a donation box at the exhibition for attendees wishing to lend a helping hand to relief efforts.
Creative co-ordinator of Landhuis Bloemhof, Rainy Marchena, also announces that the gallery is planning several upcoming activities in conjunction with the Haitian Consulate and the local Haitian community in Curaçao for earthquake relief.
