Responding to the devastation of this week’s 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, comic creators Mike Cavallaro, Jeff Newelt, and Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) Executive Director Charles Brownstein have banded together to form Heroes for Haiti a group seeking to raise money to help victims of the disaster.
The group’s blog “Heroes 4 Haiti: Artists Banding Together To Help The Victims of the January 12 Haitian Earthquake,” lists ways creators and fans alike can help, including a call to fellow creators to donate art/items or services for auction along with providing a directory of donation links to other organized relief efforts.
Their statement reads: Please join us in helping our fellow human beings by creating art and auctioning it off for charity by listing it yourself using eBay’s Giving Works program, by bidding in these auctions, by donating to relief organizations, or by volunteering your time to helping rebuild Haiti in the wake of this catastrophe.
