New York City’s French Institute/Alliance Française (22 East 60th Street, NYC) is celebrating its “Chanté-Noël A Martinique Holiday Celebration” today, December 19, from 6:30 to 10:00pm. Come and enjoy Martinique’s holiday traditions of this francophone Caribbean island. Sing traditional carols, try out some festive zouk dances, groove to the Madinina band, and indulge in a traditional Martinican holiday meal. Treats will include acras, a classic Martinican appetizer; boudin creole; juicy caramelized ham des Mornes; spicy chicken Colombo; and blanc mangé coco for dessert! Plus, toast the holidays with shrubb, the favorite Martinican liqueur served only at Christmas. The evening will include a raffle of two (2) round-trip tickets to Martinique, courtesy of American Airlines. Two lucky winners will get to experience the island first-hand!
