Symposium on the Life and Work of Juan Bosch

The Institute of Caribbean Studies, the School of Social Sciences, and the school of General Studies at the University of Puerto Rico- Río Piedras invite the university community and the general public to a one-day symposium on the life and work of Juan Bosch [Simposio: Vida y obra de Juan Bosch]. The symposium will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 8:30am to 5:30pm at Amphitheater CRA 108, Carmen Rivera de Alvarado Building, School of Social Sciences, at the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras.

Panels will include presentations and discussion on Juan Bosch’s political thought, personal trajectory, and literary corpus [also see previous post Juan Bosch (1909-2001)]. Speakers include Justo Pedro Castellanos, Néstor Duprey, Pedro San Miguel, Mary Frances Gallart, Vivian Auffant, Eugenio García Cuevas, Vivian Auffant, Juan B. Giusti de Jesús, Walter Bonilla, and César Rey, among other specialists on Juan Bosch, Dominican thinkers, and Caribbean history.
