Hosted by the Puerto Rico Association of Architects and Landscape Architects, the XI Architecture Biennial of Puerto Rico is presently taking place along the Paseo de la Princesa [Princesa Promenade] in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The biennial, which began on November 17 and will end on November 30, 2009, celebrates the best in local architecture over the past five years. On Sunday, November 29 at 4:30pm, there will be a free guided tour of the exhibition.
The exhibition features 54 architecture projects in two categories— Built Projects and Unbuilt Projects— including individual buildings, urban planning, landscape architecture, interiors, and restoration projects, among others. The five winning projects of the biennial competition—which were chosen by judges Bruno Stagno, Armando Vargas, and Mónica Rivera—are also on view. Booths include educational information about architectural history and ongoing projects in Puerto Rico.
