The second edition of Gwadloup Festival, the biggest Caribbean music festival in Guadeloupe, began tonight, November 21, and ends on November 29, 2009.
The festival will host guest artists Kassav’, Buju Banton, and Jean-Michel Rotin. Taking place in different venues throughout the islands, other concerts will focus on a variety of music, including soca, biguine, rap, the acoustic scene, Caribbean jazz, and traditional gwoka, with artists/groups such as Guy Jacquet and Big Band Bigin, Willy Salzédo Trio, Michel Sardab, Caraïb to Jazz, Barbara Cadet, Les Mécènes de Guyane, Charly Chomereau-LaMotte, and Joseán Jacobo & Tumbao, among others. Friday, November 27, will be Gran Léwoz night.
