New art gallery in Roseau, Dominica

An art gallery will open in Dominica this weekend as a space to showcase local talent.

The first of its kind on the island, the gallery, located at 87 Hillsborough St., is celebrating its Grand Opening with a champagne reception, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday November 6th, 2009, under the theme “Creole Vibes.”  The opening show highlights the look and feel that makes Dominica a unique island.  Some artists featured include Earl Ettienne, Ellingworth Moses, Petros Meaza, Gabriel Jno Baptist, and John “Bope” Victorin).  The participating artists will be there to discuss their work, and the public is invited to come and celebrate this new venture.
The Gallery was created to provide a local venue for artists to show and market their work. A website will accompany the new project, where artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work.
The gallery has been founded by Eustace and Theresa Hector and Mary Ann Fleming.

  1. Hi,

I was in Dominica some years ago. I met with Earl Etienne, Carla and more wonderfull artists from Dominica. I am very sad and sorry to have lost contact with them. Please kindly forward my message and contact to Earl and Carla.I am still based in London, and I would love to reconnect with them. My facebook is Angelique Zucconi. I still have and cherish Earl’s painting! I would really appreciate if you could.
    Thank you so much

  2. Hi there fantastic blog! Does running a blog similar to this require a lot of work?
I’ve absolutely no knowledge of computer programming but I was hoping to
start my own blog soon. Anyway, if you have any recommendations or tips for new blog
owners please share. I understand this is off topic but I simply wanted to
    ask. Thanks a lot!
