Lecture: Anti-Trujillo Sentiments in the Context of Liberal Pan-Americanist Protestantism

The Institute of Caribbean Studies of the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras invites the academic community and the general public to the lecture entitled “El anti-Trujillismo del Reverendo Dr. Miguel A. Limardo Castillo en el contexto del protestantismo panamericanista liberal, 1921-1961” [Anti-Trujillo Sentiments of Reverend Dr. Miguel A. Limardo Castillo in the Context of Liberal Pan-Americanist Protestantism, 1921-1961] by by Dr. Héctor E. López Sierra (Liberal Arts Department, Inter American
University-Metro).  Dr. Samuel Silva Gotay (Professor Emeritus, University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras) will serve as commentator. The activity will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009, from 1:00 to 3:00pm in Amphitheater CRA 108, Carmen Rivera de Alvarado Building, School of Social Sciences, at the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras.

Héctor E. López Sierra is an associate professor of Human Sciences at the Inter American University-Metro. He holds a PhD in Philosophical and Practical Theology/Social and Cultural Theories from the
Graduate Theological Foundation at the University of Oxford, a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master in Theological Studies in Theology and Social Theory from Lutheran School of Theology in collaboration with the University of Chicago Divinity School, and a Master of Divinity in Theology, Social Ethics, and Biblical Studies from the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico.
