If you will be in the Poughkeepsie, New York, area this coming Thursday, November 5th, please consider joining the Vassar Haiti Project gala at Babycakes Café. It will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 at 1-3 Collegeview Avenue. The Vassar Haiti Project, founded in 2001, is a collaborative volunteer effort supporting the welfare of artists in Haiti and the education and the nutrition of school children in the village of Chermaitre, Haiti. Through art sales and outreach programs, the Project promotes understanding of Haitian culture and society, and provides funds for improving the infrastructure of the village and the welfare of the children and their families.
So, do consider joining us for a warm evening of great food for a great cause! Tickets for this semi-formal reservation-only event will be $40 with proceeds going to benefit the “Education: Here & There” Initiative. Tickets include a 3 course prix fixe menu, coffee, and a glass of wine. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening! All artwork and handicraft on display are available for purchase!
