The collective exhibition, Ventanas para la historia:  intervención de 17 artistas [Windows for/to History: Intervention by 17 Artists] will open Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the Art Museum of the Caribbean University (MACU) in Bayamón. This collective project organized by the San Juan Liga de arte [Art League] and curated Hiromi Shiba, gathers a group of artists whose engagement has always been linked to the League. Last year, the Art League celebrated forty years since its inception. The artists have painted and modified the windows and doors that were replaced at the League as part of its restoration with different materials and techniques.  The activity begins at 7:00pm on October 21 and will be on view until February 2010.

The  array of artists range from seasoned masters to fresh faces on the art scene. The participating artists are Elías Adasme, Ramón Bulerín, Miguel Ángel Cruz, Anaida Hernández, Luís Ivorra, Roxanna Jordán, Luís Maisonet, Antonio Martorell, Hiram Montalvo, Betsy Padín, Marnie Pérez, Ivonne Prats, Raquel Quijano, Nora Quintero, Josefina Ramos,  Hiram Rosado, and José Vázquez.

The exhibition will also have an accompanying full-color catalogue, which includes an essay by the curator. The catalogue’s title is “La ventana como eco del tiempo” [Windows as an Eco of Time].
