Kooltura S.O.S. is a newly created journal on Puerto Rican art and culture. Its main goal is to highlight Puerto Rican identity by generating new spaces for all arts, where artists will be able to publicize their latest works and scheduled activities. In a moment when the artistic sector is running into numerous obstacles, this journal seeks to reactivate interest in the essence of Puerto Rican art and culture through the discussion of valuable topics, in each branch of the arts, using innovative techniques to produce a high-quality information medium.
“Painters, theater people, musicians, graffiti artists, writers, baristas and dancers are some of the protagonists of this new journal.” Each issue will contain interviews, articles on the arts, informative columns, theater reviews, biographies, coverage on concerts, exhibitions, and diverse performances, a calendar of events, and much more. The journal will appear bi-monthly in its print version, but will also be available online. The first printed issue will be available this month.
