The 1st Congress on Health and Disasters will take place on October 14-16, 2009 in Havana. The Cuban Ministry of Health, the Latin American Center for Disaster Medicine, Havana Medical University, and the National School of Public Health will co-sponsor the congress, which will be held at the Hotel Melia Habana, between 3rd and 70th avenues, Playa, Havana. The unifying theme will be “Towards an Effective Reduction of Disaster and Increase of the People’s Health.”
The congress’s goal responds to interest in sustaining reflection and analysis of the reduction of risks and management of disasters, approaching themes of great relevance in this field, and exploring scientific development for improving their social and economic impact.
