The Ninth Annual National Book Festival in Washington D.C. is set to take place on September 26 from 10am to 5:30pm. President Obama and first lady Michelle are co-hosting the event.
Among the highlights of the event are appearances by two of the best-known Caribbean-American writers: Julia Alvarez and Junot Diaz. Alvarez will be at the Fiction and Fantasy Pavilion from 1:20-2:05pm. Her latest novel is Return to Sender Junot Diaz, Pulitzer-Prize winner for The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao will be at the same pavilion from 3:35-4:05pm.
