Choreographer Julio Monge in Puerto Rico


Choreographer, actor, and director Julio Monge is presently teaching seminars on techniques in musical theater at the School for the Performing Arts in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Participants (singers, dancers, and actors) of different age groups will learn about the language of movement, choreographic interpretation, and vocal projection through two original choreographic pieces by Bob Fosse and Jerome Robbins. Courses will be held on September 10, 11, and 13. For more information, you may call (787) 605-7399.

Julio Monge has performed on many stages in Puerto Rico, the United States (on Broadway), Japan, Europe, and South America. His entry to Broadway occurred when he was selected as part of the original cast in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway. This was followed by his roles in Victor/Victoria, Crónica de una muerte anunciada [Chronicle of a Death Foretold], and El beso de la mujer araña [The Kiss of the Spider Woman], among others. Recently, he was a co-star in El Oratorio de Aurélia [Aurelia’s Oratorio], directed by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin.
