Puerto Rico’s Don Q Rum

The Examiner.com series on rums continues with a look at Puerto Rico’s Don Q rums, particularly Don Q Grand Añejo. Don Q (short for Don Quijote of literary fame), the rums are preferred by Puerto Ricans to the better-known Bacardí brand. Here is an excerpt from the article, which can be accessed through the link below.

Originally a special issue blend commemorating the 500th anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of PR, Don Q Grand Añejo is a blend of premium rums aged up to 12 years, presenting one of the finest expressions of rum made in Puerto Rico and the pride of the Destilería Serrallés family.

This award-wining spirit features a soft and deep nose of oak and molasses, offering a richer experience and a longer, smoother finish than the traditional DonQ Añejo. The fine balance of sweet and dry is complimented by a complexity of tropical tones.
