In this Moment: Exhibit of Cuban Photographs

Mansa2

Gallery 21 in Newark, New Jersey, just opened an exhibit of photographs called In the Moment, featuring work by three photographers: Mansa Mussa, Jay Seldin, and Herman Vélez. The prohotgraphs were taken during last month’s 10th Havana Art Biennial: Integration and Resistance in the Global Era and serve as a photographic documentary of the peoples, places and experiences surrounding the event. “Prepare to be seduced by these magical, honest, intriguing and sometimes brutal portraits of both the people of Cuba and the sequestered island they call home,” a viewer, Frances Pelzman Liscio, commented. The opening artist reception is Saturday evening, June 13 from 6 to 10 pm. The show runs fom June 11 through June 27.
