This summer, the San Juan Bautista Room of Old San Juan’s City Hall is exhibiting sculptures and paintings by Miguel Angel Cruz Villanueva. The exhibition, entitled “Retrospección a mi propia existencia” [Retrospection to My Own Existence], pays homage to nationalist leader Pedro Albizu Campos and to poet Juan Antonio Corretjer. The exhibition’s catalogue includes ten reproductions of the artist’s work and an essay by Nilda R. Díaz.
Born in 1954 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Cruz Villanueva works in painting, printmaking, sculpture, performance, and installation.
