30th Anniversary of the Death of Jean Rhys


Today marks the 30th anniversary of the death of Jean Rhys. Rhys, born in Roseau, the capital of Dominica, in 1890, Rhys author of novels and short stories that include the West Indian classic Wide Sargasso Sea, is, according to Laura Thompson of the Telegraph, to be “one of the best writers of the 20th century.”
