Black Women in Europe recently featured Sharon Dyall, who moved to Sweden when she was 13, after growing up in London and Barbados. According to BWIE, she is an extremely versatile artist in various genres including soul and jazz. She has sung with most of Sweden’s most acclaimed jazz musicians and big bands, including Nisse Landgren.
She has also had great success in the theater and musicals, including winning the Guldmask Award for her role as Anita in West Side Story in 1989. She has participated in several major musicals over the years such as Guys & Dolls, Hair, A Corus Line, Nine and Jekyll & Hyde, on different stages in Sweden.
Dyall has sung behind Swedish pop and jazz elite, released several CDs, and toured with well-known musicians such as Totta Naslund, Nils Landgren, Svante Turesson, and Rhapsody in Rock. She has also dubbed several Disney and other signature films.
