The Bahamas Celebrates 39 Years of Independence

With the theme “The Bahamas: United in Love & Service,” the Bahamas celebrates 39 years of independence on July 10, 2012. Beginning this Friday, July 6, at 10:00am, the official independence celebrations will begin with National Pride Day in Rawson Square, where the Women’s Suffrage Exhibition will be officially unveiled. This year is also the 50th anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement and this year’s Independence celebrates the role Bahamian women have played in the establishment and formation of the nation.
