Caribbean Women’s Suffrage Symposium

As 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement in The Bahamas, The College of The Bahamas in conjunction with the Bureau of Women’s Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Development will co-host a special symposium, under the theme “Commemorating the Past, Reflecting on the Present, Envisioning the Future: 1962 and Beyond.”

The symposium will be held on March 6-9, 2012, at the Performing Arts Centre at The College of The Bahamas in Nassau, the Bahama. All events are free and open to the general public.

Speakers will include Hon. Janet Boswick, Christopher Curry, Ruth Bowe-Darville, E’thegra Symonette, Margo Blackwell, Nicolette Bethel, Ian Strachan, Michael Stevenson, Aneesha Abdullah, and Ian Bethell-Bennett
