Tracey Chan reminds us that Women Make Art is back for 2012 with another 4Hr Nap and Caribbean Art project (CAp)collaboration. Organizers are now accepting artwork submissions for this year’s exhibition, “Home & Away.” The main objective is to interact and engage with more women artists as they create regional and international solidarity through the project. The exhibition will run from March 31 to April 14, 2012, at the Gallery in St. George’s, Grenada. The deadline for submission is February 29, 2012.
Description: Home & Away seeks to deal with all aspects of the home, of distance, of the working woman, of immigrant life, of the woman in the diaspora, of identity and place. What does it mean to be a female artist in the Caribbean? What does it mean to live or grow up in another place; to build a new life; to return to another home? We are interested in your stories.
Eligibility: Women artists, amateur and professional, 18 years and onwards.
Artists must have Caribbean heritage, or live and work in the Caribbean and or the diaspora.
Dates: The deadline for submission is February 29; artists will be notified by March 5; final receipt of all chosen artworks is March 25.
