As part of the programming of “Hoy Como Ayer,” Puerto Rican singer Luz Esther Benítez, best known as Lucecita, will be in concert on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 8:00pm, at the Miami Dade County Auditorium in Miami, Florida.
Lucecita Benítez (Bayamón, Puerto Rico, 1942) garnered worldwide attention in 1969, when she won first prize at the Festival de la Voz y la Canción Latina in México, with her song “Génesis.” Today, she is known as “La Voz Nacional de Puerto Rico” [The National Voice of Puerto Rico].
