
Loipa: existencia en plenitud [Loipa: A Life in Fullness] is a documentary by filmmaker Gloria Argüelles. This film premieres on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 5:00pm at the Chaplin Theater.
The documentary has been chosen by ICAIC to honor one of the “Four Jewels” of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, Loipa Araujo, as part of the troupe’s 70 anniversary. Filmmaker Fernando Pérez will present the tribute speech.
Juventud Rebelde writes, “In 57 minutes, Gloria Argüelles presents the life and work of the noted dancer through the testimonies of different well-known figures of Cuban culture with images related to her successful career as a dancer, maître, and professor.”
