Paying tribute to Montserrat’s culture, talent and creativity, the unique island of Montserrat will celebrate its annual carnival, known as Festival, from December 4, 2010 until January 1, 2011. Now it has been renamed the Arrow Festival in honor of the late Alphonus Cassell, also known as “Arrow.”
Featuring a wide variety of activities—including the School Arts Festival (December 14-15); Calypso Elimination, Semifinals, and Finals; an all-Female Calypso Show (December 21); the Soca Monarch (December 22); various beauty pageants for all ages; and many street jams—on December 28, Soca International will honor “The Mighty Arrow” with performances by Caribbean favorites, including Edwin Yearwood, Burning Flames, Shurwayne Winchester, Rupee, and many more.
