Repeating Islands

Superstar athlete Usain Bolt kicked off his book tour in London yesterday with a stop on the British tv program The One Show, which has an average viewing of 4.5 million people. The book – Usain Bolt My Story 9.58 – an illustrated biography, focuses on the story of the eight days in August 2008 during which Bolt won three gold medals, set three world records, and came to the attention of millions of people around the world. Bolt’s life – and the world of sport – would never be quite the same again. While in London, Bolt will be making the rounds of radio and TV sections of the BBC and will pay a visit to the Olympic Stadium where the London 2012 Summer Olympics will be held. Bolt co-authored the book with British journalist Shaun Custis and will pay a visit to the Sun‘s headquarters where he will edit a few columns as part of his tour. Although largely a media tour, Bolt will engage the public in a two hour signing at the Waterstone’s Piccadilly facility on Thursday.
The book is over 280 pages and is complete with photographs, some of which has never been published. Harper Collins, UK is the publisher and will be distributed by Ian Randle Publishers in the Caribbean. It will sell for 20 pounds.
