
Cultura y letras cubanas en el siglo XXI [Cuban Culture and Letters in the XXI Century (Iberoamericana/Verveurt, 2010], edited by Araceli Tinajero, is a collection of essays by scholars from different perspectives and disciplines such as art, history, anthropology, literary criticism, sociology, and music. The essays address the political, cultural, social, and artistic landscape of contemporary Cuba.
Araceli Tinajero is an associate professor of Latin American literature at The Graduate Center in New York. She is also the author of Orientalismo en el modernismo hispanoamericano (2004) and El lector de tabaquería: Historia de una tradición cubana (2007), which was translated into English in 2009, El lector: A History of the Cigar Factory Reader.
