Caribbean music and culture are alive and kicking in France. Le Zouk Plus Long 12 [The Longest Zouk], a twelve-hour event, is a Caribbean dance party taking place on December 27, 2009, in Pierrelaye, France. Dubbed “Le plus gran rendez-vous des DOM-TOM” [the biggest gathering of the Overseas Departments and Territories], the zouk party will take place from 8:00pm on the 27th until 8:00am the next day at Space Tropical at 10 Fernand Léger Street in Pierrelaye.
The zouk evening will be divided into four different themes with music, performances, and various activities held in four different dance spaces. The four sections are “Le zouk le plus VIP” [the most “VIP” zouk], with DJs Jairo, Greg, Moody Mike, and Lo; “Le zouk le plus local” [the most local zouk], with DJs Gil, Manu, Foxx T, Flexx, and Guss; “Le zouk le plus retro” [the most “Retro” zouk], with DJs Halan, Foxx, Jimmix,and Damocless; and “Accueil des DOM” [Overseas Departments Welcoming Event], with DJs “Reunion,” “Guyane,” Ludovic, Lopez, and TYTY.
There will be Caribbean refreshments on hand (including coconut sorbet), gift giveaways, and surprise performances by unannounced artists.
