KK ALese’s new album

Karen Edie, who performs and records under the name KK Alese, is one of the Cayman Islands’ best-known singers. She made her solo debut at the 2005 Cayman Jazz Festival and has preformed internationally since then. Her eagerly anticipated first studio album, Unexpected, was just released.  Inspired by reggae, jazz, R&B, hip-hop and electronica, the album showcases her vocal range in an eclectic fusion of musical rhythms. Her debut album also features Grammy Award winner Beenie Man, as well as tracks produced by multiple Grammy-Award winner Ken Lewis.
KK Alese emerged on the Caribbean music scene in 2008 after launching her first single, “Move”. The record was an instant hit and made it to the top 5 of the Jamaica Music charts. She has opened for critically-acclaimed artists such as Brian McKnight, Natalie Cole, Roberta Flack, Maxi Priest, Anita Baker, Etana and Morgan Heritage. Having enjoyed early success, KK Alese was nominated for an Excellence in Music and Entertainment award (EME) after the video for her debut single reached number one. KK Alese later won an RETV award for the Best Caribbean Video.
KK Alese’s new album is available from Funky Tangs, Edie’s Decor, J&M Electronics, Swank Full Figure Fashions and Tortuga Rum Company.
