The Hub and the Bahamas International Literary Festival have announced a book launch scheduled for 6:30 today, September 26, at The Hub. The event celebrates the publication of Obediah Michael Smith’s most recent books of poetry, Seventy Poem and Open Testament. Smith will be introduced by Dr. Nicolette Bethel and will be reading from his books. The Hub ‘s bar will be open and selling refreshments.
Smith, who holds a BA in Drama and Speech from Fisk University, has published twelve books of poems. He has participated in poetry festivals in Cuba, Mexico and Nicaragua and facilitated the 2009 Bahamas Writers Summer Institute Poetry Workshop.
