
The Dominican Commissioner for Culture announced this week that the 4th Dominican Book Fair would be dedicated to writer and former president Juan Bosch. The Fair will take place on 9-11 October at the Mirabal Sisters Schol campus, at 21 Jumel Place and 168th Street in Manhattan. The Fair will also host a celebration of the work of Juan Rivero, a pioneer of Dominican writing in New York. Other participants in the Fair will be writer Mateo Morrison, who will guide a workshop on politics and cultural rights during Bosch’s presidency; Diógenes Céspedes, winner of the Dominican National literature Prize, who will speak about Bosch’s short stories; and Manuel Matos Mosquete who will speak about the legacies of Pedro Henríquez Ureña and Juan Bosch.
