Jamaica Kincaid’s novel Lucy is being adapted as a film script by writer and director Frank E. Flowers. Flowers, a native of the Cayman Islands, is the director of Haven (2004) and is presently working on a re-make of Taps. The script is being developed as a vehicle for well-known Hollywood actress Zoe Saldana, who is also slated to produce the film. The book follows a young West Indian girl, Lucy, who moves from the Caribbean to the US to work as an au pair for the well-off family of a magazine writer.
