
In France, the Garance Reggae Festival 2009 is under way. The Garance Reggae Festival has become legendary since its inception in the early 1980s. From May 31 to June 6, there will be consecutive concerts in various venues in Paris — Elysée Montmartre, Grande Halle de la Villette, and Trabendo— bringing together reggae veterans and sound systems, as well as fresh faces to the stage. Performers include Takana Zion, Jah Mason and Chezidek, Jah Shaka, Finley Quaye, Ken Boothe, Don Carlos, Queen Omega, Natty, Bob Andy, Barrington Levy, Saxon Sound System, Black Roses Sound System, Dub Station, and Blackboard Jungle, among others.
