Cuban novelist Leonardo Padura Fuentes has published a troubling meditation on the Cuban family in crisis, “Family in a Daze,” in Havana Times. Cuba’s households, he writes, “have witnessed a break in their relations of continuity and, accompanying it, the transmission of values, customs and domestic cultures that are always acquired in the family home.” Havana Times is an online magazine (subtitled “Open-Minded Writing from Cuba”) that includes blogs-within-a-blog, interviews, reviews, photos, commentary, and a wealth of other materials on contemporary Cuba.
